Faith not Fear

>> Friday, November 27, 2009

First off, I Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope you all enjoyed time with your family and realize how blessed we are. :)

I have been reading Max Lucado's new book Fearless, (thats why I havent been blogging; I've been reading instead). Ok, so I wanted to share a little bit about the book and one of my favorite parts in the book. This book is about making decisions based on faith instead of fear. I didn't realize how much I did this. But what was a real eye-opener for me was this part in the book :

"The Gospels list some 125 Christ-issued imperatives. Of these, 21 urges us to "not be afraid," or "not fear" or "have courage" or "take heart" or "be of good cheer."

Jesus wants us to have faith in him, instead of fearing each decision we make. He will fix it, if we mess up. I think this is all something we need to take to heart. We have no control; God has it all. God has me in the palm of his hand and he cares for me. That is plenty for me; and something I am incredibly thankful for!

I love yall!

God speaks to us everyday; we just have to choose whether or not we listen

>> Friday, November 20, 2009

So I have been really really really really down lately. Im struggling with a lot of things, but tonight I when I was reading my Bible I read this:

Psalms 13
5 But I trust in your unfailing love.
I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
6 I will sing to the Lord
because he is good to me.

Lately I have been taking for granted all the good things in my life, and focusing on the negative and bad things happened to me. This week has been really rough, I LOATHE my new job, one of my best friends is deathly(and when I say deathly Im not joking) ill, my friend Luke got terminated from the program, I miss home with every ounce of being, and My "adopted" Granddaddy passed away. I have been focusing on these things, but God always speaks to us. He did save me and I have to realize that I need to turn these bad things into good things. I need to appreciate meeting new people at my job, pray for my friend, Luke got to go home and be with his family, I am blessed enough to get to talk to my family and have a family to love, and Granddaddy is where he wanted to be; with God. I need to focus on taking every blessing I have and counting it. Tomorrow is a new day, if God chooses to bless me with, and I wont waste it like I have been wasting my days lately. I am going to focus on the good things and try my hardest to enjoy every minute of every day. I love you all!!

God Held Me and Smiled

>> Saturday, November 14, 2009

God held me and smiled
As He wiped away tears.
He whispered that He loved me
And said, I know your fears.”

He rocked me and He sang
Songs of love and sweet rest.
He would lead me and guide me
In the way that was best.

His hand will not falter,
His voice will not fail.
I can trust Him completely
For His grace will prevail.

My hope is in Jesus,
My friend and my guide.
He has walked on before me
And in Him I’ll abide.

A MAJOR pet peeve.

>> Sunday, November 8, 2009

So, I had a good weekend, but I need to vent about a pet peeve of mine. First off, this is NOT meant to offend anyone in any form or fashion. Kudos to your personal preference. This is just mine. It COMPLETELY and ENTIRELY rubs me the wrong way when Christmas is celebrated before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite Holiday, and it irks me when people skip over it. It makes me so mad when Christmas is celebrated before Halloween is even over. People are late on a daily basis, why do all of the sudden they get to be TWO MONTHS early. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas, but I love Christmas at Christmas time NOT at Thanksgiving time. I think that it shows a lot about our society when we decide to skip over the Holiday we celebrate to be Thankful for what we have, to the Holiday that celebrates what we Get. I dont think this is everyone's mindset(Shannon, I dont think you are like this. Please dont get offended); I just think it reflects on society a lot. Thats all. If you read this and got offended, please dont. Just dont skip over Thanksgiving. It means a lot. I know Im not going to change anyone, but I just wanted to throw out my opinion. Thats all. Sorry it's short.

Have a blessed night tonight :)

Prayer Request

>> Friday, November 6, 2009

So today isnt going to be my normal upbeat post. I'm sick physically and mentally exhausted. I am just throwing this out there. You can catch it, throw it back, or do whatever with it. I HATE having to decide what I am going to do for the rest of my life by the time I am 22. Some people know what they want to do and stick with it and get out school in the 4 years. I am 20 years old, why is the round world do I have to pick now what I am going to do when I am 40. It makes no sense to me what so ever. I know I want to be a Nurse. I have decided that BUT I have NO clue what so ever where I want to go to school. I have several options, but nothing I am truely pulled too. The cons out weigh the pros. I am so confused. I am coming to you to ask for your prayers to help me figure out where I am going to go in two months. Ill keep you updated on my decision. Right now my decision is that I am undecided(haha). Ok. Thats all. I hope you all have a lovely day :)

It's A Grand Ole Time

TODAY I STARTED MY NEW JOB! I am no longer a cast member at Typhoon Lagoon(Pause for a moment of silence).......now moving on. I really do miss Typhoon but I wanted to tell you and show where I am working now. Are you ready for this? I dont think you are. At all. I sure wasnt. Ready? Set. Reveal!

Ok. So here is what I learned today. People have too much money. Let me just tell you about my new home, the Grand Floridian. The Grand Floridian is a resort and spa that is modeled after a Victorian Era House by the Seas. It looks like the Titanic when you walk in. It is beautiful.

One Night at the Grand can range anywhere from $400.00 a night to $4000.00 a night. WHAT IN THE ROUND WORLD? Are people insane. $4000 to sleep somewhere(Yes you are reading that right four-thousand). Ok. So that is for room alone. Lets talk about fun stuff.

I went on a yacht today. Would you like to know how much it cost for ONE HOUR to rent this yacht? Well whether you answered yes or no I am going to tell you. $45o. ONE HOUR for $450. I will swim you around on my back for an hour for $100. Please and thank you. So lets rethink this.

If you rent the cheapest room for ONE night and the yacht for ONE hour. Your total is already at $840 (before tax). You can also rent sail boats, speed racers, and other marina things.
We have a spa and gym that is open 24 hours a day. Two pools with bars. A beach with hammocks and cabanas. Tennis Courts. Shopping....oh let me tell you about shopping and food.

Food: I am working at Gasperillas. It's quick service still and we have arcade games and all kinds of fun stuff. Here is a list of the other restaurants:

Grand Flordian Cafe: It quick service dining. American cuisine. To be exact(aka Hamburgers)

1900 Park Fare: Character Dining: Breakfast Mary Poppins, Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore, and other characters. Supper(night meal) you eat with Cinderella, Prince Charming, The Ugly Step-Sisters and the Evil Step Mother. Both of these meals are a buffet.

Tea: At the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. There is a mother-daughter tea with Alice and the Mad Hatter. At the end of the tea, there is a parade for all of the Princesses.

Citricos: Upper Scale Mediterranean dining. This is still kid friendly but it is more for adults.

Narcoossee: Upper Scale Steak and Seafood. This is on the bay looking at Magic Kingdom. :)

AND FOR THE GRAND(no pun intended) FINALE:
Victoria's & Alberts: The starting price for this is $120 a person. There is a formal where(ball gowns and tux) dress code. There is a age limitation on this resturaunt.

WELCOME: Am I in a ritzy hotel or what? I feel so out of place. Haha. Oh me. This Country-Bumpkin is going to have a lot of getting use too. :) Anyways Ill update you on the shopping part later.

Have a Magical Night :)

PS Here is a link so you can look more at the
GRAND FLORIDIAN
