Caution This Contains Corny!!

>> Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Ok! So one of my favorite things in the world is corny pick up lines. I was going to save this post for Things I love Thursdays, but I can contain myself! So here are some of my favorite corny pick-up lines!!

  • Are you a broom....because you have swept me off my feet.
  • How much does a Polar Bear Weigh?....enough to break the ice. Hi my name is Amy!
  • Are you a library book?....Cause I want to check you out.
  • If they named a hamburger after you it would be called the McGorgeous.
  • Did it hurt....When you fell from heaven.
  • Is your name Visa? Cause you are everywhere I want to be.
  • What's your number? I lost mine
  • That's a nice shirt....can I talk you out of it.
  • Do your feet hurt?....Cause you have been running through my mind.
  • Can you help me I'm lost....in your eyes.
  • I hurt all over....Because, Baby, I've fallen hard for you!
  • Hey baby, you must be a light switch cause everytime I see you, you turn me on!
  • Do you believe in love at first sight....or should I walk by again?

These are just a few. I could read these all day long and not get tired of it. I hope you got a chuckle or two out of these.

Man, I have a tough life... ;)

>> Tuesday, September 22, 2009

I was talkin to my big brother Saturday Night and he said, Man you sure have a tough life. Hints my blog title. BUT I GOT TO TALK TO MY NEPHEWS! I miss the soooo much. It broke my heart a little to hear their voices but moving on....

Saturday, I went to Typhoon Lagoon(yes, the place I work) BUT I got to go and play. I swam with the skarks 2 times. I love doing that. I think it's so relaxing. I layed in the lazy river, went in the wave pool. Hung out with my friends, but the highlight of my day was getting a GARBAGE PAIL. Yes, the massive sandbucket of ice cream. It was so yummy :) I shared it with 4 of my friends. It was amazing. After Typhoon, I came home, showered, watched some tv then I went to Magic Kingdom and watched the fireworks. I fall in love over and over with Disney. Each time I see Spectromagic. Each time I see the Castle. Each time I walk down Main Street. Each time I see the Fireworks. I fall in love. This time when I watched Spectromagic I didn't have to stand on my tip-toes to see it and it was even better! The character heard when I yelled their names :) I am so incredibly blessed to have this experience and I realize that each and everyday.

Sunday, I went to church at Concord. Then I came home and took a nap for 15 minutes then I went back to Typhoon. We were going to go to the beach, but I really wanted to go to church Sunday night so we wouldn't have time to do both. So instead I went back to Typhoon. Haha. Don't judge me for going to where I work on my days off. After night services, we were going to go to see Wishes, but we got confused on the time. So we got to see them from the road as we were driving away. Then I came home and skyped with Urna for like 20 minutes, did laundry, and went to bed.

Monday, I worked. THEN I went to Downtown Disney to go to my future husband's(Goofy)'s Candy shop. AND LET ME TELL YOU! That is one of the most amazing candy shop's in the world. There is a part where you get to build your own candy let me explain the process.

  1. Pick your base candy(apple, gingerbread, pretzel sticks, marshmallows, a giant oreo, or Mickey shaped rice krispie treat)
  2. Pick what kind of chocolate you want your treat dipped in(milk, dark or white)
  3. Pick what kind of topping you want(too many to list but there is anything you could imagine)
  4. Pick what kind of chocolate you want drizzled over your original treat(milk, dark or white)
TADA! Then you have your orginal Mickey treat. And how much does this little slice of heaven cost me? Oh well let me tell you friends, it cost me all of $4. Yes, I did just say $4. No, not $40. Just $4. haha. I was so excited when she rang me up. I got the oreo with peanut butter filling, dipped in milk chocolate, with recees' cups as my topping drizzled with milk chocolate. I LOVED IT! It was so good. Haha. Yes, you should envy me. ;)

Today I worked, now I am being a bum. Thats all. Have a great day everyone :)

Continuation of my this past week.....

Sunday: Sunday, I went to church at Concord again. Let me tell you, I love Concord. Not as much as I love Alvaton, but it is an amazing congergation. When I got to church, I walked downstairs and went into our classroom. There was a girl sitting there and she turned around and said incredibly loud, "Hi! My name is Jill!" (and here is the rest of the conversation:
Me: Hi, Im Amy
J: Where are you from?
Me: Kentucky.
J: Yea, you talk funny. I'm from Oklahoma What are you doing down here?
Me: Im working at Disney as a CP(college program)
J: WHAT!!! ME TOO!!!!
*High five*
Me: Where do you live?
J: Patterson.
Me: ME TOO!!!
*Another high five*
J: Can I start riding with you?
Me: Yes ma'am!

Cha-Ching! I got a new friend. Haha. Anyways after church I went to eat with some of the college kids from Concord and we went to a returuatunt called Chipotle. It was like Subway except you create your own bowl/burrito/taco. It was really good. After church I went home and did what Sunday afternoons are meant for. I took a nap. :) Then after my nap I met up with my friend Spenser(He introduced himself as Spenser Emmerson, Spenser with a S not a C. All my names have 7 letters....haha), and his roommates and we went to Hollywood Studios. We rode Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster. We also did the Woody Toy Story Ride, and It is amazing!! I got my tail whooped, but it was so worth it. We played other games, and rode other rides. We watched the American Idol Finale which is really neat. During the day they have audition rounds and then each round someone get eliminated, like the real show. You vote and everything. The really neat part is that the winner get's a golden ticket and that means they can go to the front of any audition line for the real American Idol show. How much fun is that? Then we finished off the night with Fantasmic, which I still claim is my FAVORITE night-time show. It sends chills down my spine everytime I watch it. After Hollywood Studios, we went to McDonalds and had a lot of fun there. Then I came home and went to bed :)

Monday: I worked all day Monday. I worked this week at two places Crush Cart and Surf Doggies. I am not a huge fan/ I loathe working at these two places. I'll vent about Crush in a second. ANYWAYS after I got off work, I came home and took a shower and I had some friends over from work. We ordered Chinese and attempted to watch a movie but we had Roommate issues and drama so we went to one of the people I was hanging out with apartments. It was so much fun. One of the guys I was with feel asleep WITHOUT his shoes on. WHICH means that it is free game to draw on him. So that is exactly what we did. It was lots of fun. Then I came home and went to bed :)

*TIME-OUT I think it's so cool that when people ask me, hey what are you going to do tonight? I get to say oh Im going to play at Disney!" I mean how cool is that?!? Ok. Time in.*

TUESDAY: This is my vent session. I got to work at 9:00 and when I clocked-in it said to take Position 1 at Crush Cart. I have never worked at Crush Cart. So I get to CC and I am the only one there which means I am opening. How STUPID is that. I had no idea what to do. Then my radio wasn't working, so I had to walk back to the Coordinators office to get help. Then they sent me on a wild goose chase to find a guy to help me open. After I got done trying to find that non existant man, I went BACK to the Coordinators office and then they sent someone to me. My stand was suppose to open at 10, but because I didnt know what I was doing it didnt open until 10:30. My Operator number(which open and lets me use the register) wouldnt work. So then I wasn't able to serve anything. I only had 76 customers in 8 hours. It was miserable. CC is outside foods AKA NO AIR CONDITIONING! But here is the good new: My Cousins Corey and Shannon were here. So they would come by and see my stand! Then it was lots of fun. So after I got off my miserable shift: I went out to supper with my Roommate~ Julie, Corey and Shannon. We went to Olive Garden and it was heavenly! Then we went to see a movie, which was not good. Then I came home and went to bed :)

Wednesday: I worked at el stupido CC again. It was awful. Then I met up with Corey and Shannon we had church then we went to Disney Quest! Disney Quest is a 5 story interactive arcade and once you pay to get in you play all the video games for FREE!! AND why yes I did beat Corey on the drumming game. There are so many different game. There is a Buz Light Gear souped up Bumper game, A Pirates of the Caribbean game where you shoot cannons, a boat ride where you have to stear, and my favorite is where you create your own Roller Coaster. It's Amazing. You really flip and turn side-ways. It's so cool!! Then we went and hung out at their hotel. Then I went home and went to bed :)

Thursday: I went to work at stupid CC again. We closed at 4:45 instead of 5. How nice of them right? I had to close the stand all by myself which isn't fun. Then the next thing I know the park intercome system comes on and it says that we are staying open for another 2 hours. WHAT THE JUNK!? But good news I found out why. There was a "suspicious package" on one of the Disney buses so they had to check every single bus, so there wasnt any buses to pick up our guest when the park closed. After work, I came home and I got to talk to my parents on SKYPE! How much fun is that? It was really good to see their faces. I went to the Mart of Wals(Wal-Mart) and bought groceries. Then I came home and went to bed :)

Friday: WHICH BRINGS US UP TO DATE: I worked at Surf Doggies. Came home fell asleep on accident. Slept until my roommate came home, then we went to my friends Spenser's house and watched a movie.

TADA!! There you have it. That's what's been going on in my life. I hope you all enjoy my weekly update. Haha. Im going to the parks tomorrow so Ill have stuff to say :) Im playing at Typhoon Lagoon which is where I work :) WAHOO!!

BEWARE: Lots of Memories Ahead :)

>> Thursday, September 17, 2009

Hey! Im so sorry Im not very good at keepin up with this blogging mess. I've been coming home after work, showering, leaving or work, shower, bed. BUT there is a lot to update you so this is going to be a ridiculously long blog. I dont blame you if you don't want to read it. With that being said, let me back up till last Saturday.

SATURDAY:
Saturday was my day off and I went to Animal Kingdom. When I woke up, I was incredibly sad because it was raining, but you know what I did. I put on my poncho and I was on my way. I dragged asked politely my roommate, Julie, to come with me. So we got to Animal Kingdom at 10ish. When you walk into every park, there is a WOW moment. For example, Magic Kingdom: it's the castle. Epcot: it's the Epcot Ball and Animal Kingdom's is the tree of life. It is so amazing the detail of every animal that is carved into the tree. I just stood there in awww for a few minutes and after I got done looking like I was hypnotized, we went to see a Bug's Life the 3-D Show, It's Tough to be a Bug. That show is so cute :) I know I say that about so many things but I am in love with the 3-D shows down here. I definitely screamed when the bugs ran at my feet. Haha. Then we went to ride Mount Everest which is an INSANE roller coaster. It starts off really boring and I thought it was going to be like that the whole time, BUT then, my friend, you about pee your pants because the tracks end and you come to an abrupt halt and you are looking over at least 5 miles of Orlando. Then you go backwards and it's in the dark. THEN you stop again and the tracks rotate infront of you and its dark so you just see a creepy thing turning over AND THEN you plummet to you death. Haha. After we rode Everest the first 2 times, we went to the Klilmagaro Safaris. We saw lions, elephants, baby elephants, antelope, giraffes, crocodiles, hippos, white rhinoceros, rhinoceros, and several other animals. It was so cool because they were so close to you. MIND YOU it was raining the whole time so we didn't even see half the animals but we saw so many. After the safari we went to Rafiki's Planet Watch, which you take a train too. (This is where the story gets embarrassing) At Rafiki's Planet Watch it's an island where you can see rain forest animals, reptiles, and other assorted creatures(aka farm animals….which I have at my house). BUT when I walked into the building I saw character and no lie I screamed. I met Pocahontas, Rafiki, Jiminy Cricket, Wiggins(the bad guy from Pocahontas), Meeko, Timon, Brer Rabbit and Brer Bear, and Baloo. I had baby freak outs when I met them. It was so cool!! I loved it. So after this we got back on the train and started wandering around. We went to Camp Minnie-Mickey to see the Festival of the Lion King, but on our way I saw there was yet ANOTHER place to meet characters. (Im not going to lie this INCREDIBLY embarrassing….like I don't even want to tell you but I can't leave this part of the story out). I was waiting in line to meet Mickey and I was so beyond stoked. When I got to the front of the line it was NOT Just Mickey, it was Minnie too! I screamed!! not a little scream like hard-core screamed! My roommate had to explain to the people in line that I had never been. The people were laughing. (THIS IS NOT THE END OF MY STORY FRIENDS….THERE IS MORE) SO after I get out line, I see there is another line and who is in that line….shut the front door. It was Donald Duck and Goofy. NOT only did I scream but I had a massive freak out. The camera people, characters, other guests, attendants, and my roommate were all laughing. One camera guy said, "It's like you have waited your whole life for this!" and I turned around and said "I have! I have waited 20 years for this!!" Everyone was laughing so hard but I was so excited, Goofy just kept hugging and hugging me. The photographer got 34 pictures of me. They thought I was so funny. I LOVE IT! I can not even begin to describe how filled with joy I was. :) Forget Prince Charming, I want to marry Goofy!!

After this episode, I went to eat lunch and I saw Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore. They were precious. I contained myself at this point. Then we went to Dinoland and saw the Finding Nemo Musical. Which is AMAZING! It's people with puppets, but not the corny puppets, like the Lion King on Broadway kind of Puppets. After all of this we went back to Everest and rode it 6 more times. Just in case you weren't counting, that means we rode Everest 8 times. Yes, my friends, 8 times. We decided that at the 8th time we should probably go home. We didn't even do everything at Animal Kingdom! I loved it, but my day did not end here either.

I went home and watched Tennessee loose an awful game, during which, my roommate took a nap. But after that we went to Magic Kingdom. WHAT?!!? Stop the train. I went to 2 parks in one day! I went with my friend Spenser, Caleb, and Julie to Magic Kingdom(MK for future reference). We watched Spectromagic which is only one of the coolest parades EVER!! It's the light parade at Night and we got to watch Wishes which is the firework show at MK. It was even more magical because we saw someone propose right before the fireworks. How cute is that? This was only Satuday. BUT my fingers hurt from typing so I will post the rest of my adventures from this week later tonight. I love you all!!

Things I love Thursday

>> Thursday, September 10, 2009

Ok, so I wanted to add pictures on each of these but I realized that there are a lot of things I love. SO that means that I will have to blog about specific things another time....

1. I love God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I can not express how much they mean to me and impact my daily life. I hope that each of you know this Godhead. I hope you talk to them and tell them you love them, because they talk to you and tell you they love you. It's rude to ignore. :)

2. My family. I miss them all so much. In my family there is My Daddy, My Mommy, My big Brother(Wade) and His wife Allison, My Three precious nephews Canaan, Wyatt and Westin, and My Little Brother, Carter. I have such an amazing family and I miss them so much. I miss playing with my Nephews. It breaks my heart I am away from them so long. I have amazing Grandparents-Papaw and Mamaw(my mom's parents) and my Grandmother-(Dad's mom). I have great cousins, aunts, and uncles. I am truly blessed.

3. My Church and Church Family. There is no place in the world like Alvaton. I am so blessed that Dad got this position. When I moved to Alvaton I loathed it, but I don't know what I would do without it. They are people whom I can depend on, people who arent going to hurt me, people who arent going to judge me, and people who are amazing.

4. My Friends. I think true friends are the hardest to find. I have amazing ones that I can depend on, that make me laugh, that let me cry, and that I can TRUST. I love yall.

5. FHU. I was the happiest I have ever been in my life the year and a half I was blessed to be there. I miss it, but I realize that it was a year and a half that changed my life. I am so glad I got to have that experience.

6. Quotes. In my opinion it amazes me that lines make letters, letters make words, words make sentences, and sentences make emotions.

7. College Sports. Tennessee is my team. The TN Vols, not Vandy or any yucky other team. I bleed TN Orange.

8. Books. I love to read. Historical Fiction and books like Max Lucado writes are my favorite.

9. Milk. I love Chocolate and Plain milk. I drink it with everything. I know that will gross some of you out, but I LOVE it.

10. Communication. Texting, skyping, emails, and letters. I love keeping in touch with people. I dont like to talk on the phone, but I do it. I talk to my parents almost everynight. It's so nice to hear their voices.

There will be more things to come. I promise this isnt all i like :)

Sorry I fell off the face of the planet.

>> Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Like I said, I'm so sorry I fell off the face of the planet. I have worked everyday since last Monday and haven't really done much BUT good news! I went to Epcot tonight so you know what that means? IT MEANS BLOG TIME!! Haha. Guess what not only did I see the Epcot Ball(which by the way has 1324 triangles....just to let you know) I WENT IN IT! Yes Ladies and Gentleman, there is a ride that goes into the Epcot ball AND when you get to the top of it you are surrounded by black and stars AND you are looking down on Earth like you are in space. AND on the way down the ride predicts your future. Isnt that so cool!! I think it is. :)

Yet again my roommate was crackin up at me because I was such a little kid. After that we went on this ride called Soarin.' So check this out, on Soarin you go up in the air then you fly over parts of the United States. When you fly over the Orange Grove, you smell oranges. When an airplane passes the air current gets stronger. After Soarin, I saw Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald Duck. They were all hanging out together :) They are so cute. After that I went to Finding Nemo Ride and they have an aquarium there. It was so neat. After the ride Julie and I went to Turtle Talk with Crush. You really get to talk with Crush. Like he calls people out from the audience, meets them, and ask them question and you get to ask him questions. AND Dori showed up. After that we went to Honey I Shrunk the Audience....the dog sneezes and we get wet! There are mice and they run over your feet. I love all of these 3-D shows I am getting to see.

I need you to know that outside of Honey I Shrunk the audience, we walked outside and there is water that jumps. Like it jumps from place to place and over peoples head. It is SOOOOO cool. After that we walked around the countries: We walked through Mexico and took a boat ride there, then Norway, China, Germany, American and Japan. After this we stopped for the fireworks. The Fireworks at Epcot are so neat, but halfway through there is a globe that comes out into the water and it does a lightshow of all the countries and when the country appears on the Globe, the one at Epcot lights up :) THEN there are more fireworks. I was standing in Italy tonight when I watched it and not only could see the fireworks at Epcot I could see the ones at Magic Kingdom. So not only was I watching Epcot light up, I was watching Cinderella's castle light up with MK fireworks. As most of you know Im dont cry very often, but everytime I see the fireworks here I get choked up. I realize Ive waited 20 years to see these fireworks and everytime I see them I get overwhelmed. Im in love with Disney and all of these Magical Moments. I want to feel like this for forever. I hope all of you get to experience Disney. It's amazing.

First off I am still having a wonderful time. I still love it down here and I am still having the time of my life. BUT I got to thinking about some stuff so I need to get it off my chest. Ok. So I need to vent.

I'm going to pull a Christine. ( she likes to start out lessons with a definition) Im starting this out with a definition.
LYING: 1: to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive
2 : to create a false or misleading impression
3. the blunt term, imputing dishonesty

I LOATHE lying. I think number three is my favorite because it's so accurate. LYING is always BLUNT. You can't accidentally lie. There may not be motif behind your lying, but more than likely it is. Sometimes it is to "save the other person from being hurt," but more than likely it is to save your butt. People claim to lie for good reasons, but I think that if the act you are doing isn't good, then your reasons behind it cant be good. (in this case at least) Lying isnt accidental. It is blunt. There is a decision when you open your mouth to lie. You can stop yourself or you can say the lie. You have the decision.

Without going into details I have had several people do me wrong, and because of this I have trust issues. Im not saying I have had a hard life or sayin "woe is me," but I have had my fair share of friendships being messed up. AND when you pull away all the muck and grime of the stuff that happened it comes down to people lying. Without a doubt lying can make or break a relationship in my opinion. It doesn't matter if it is family, friends, or boyfriends. It doesn't matter if it was a friendship or more than that. I know this is awful, but once you lie to me once it's so hard for me to EVER trust that person again. I will still be their friend(for the most part) but they have more than likely lost my trust in their ability to keep secrets or be honest. I know those two things are directly connected but to me they are. Because if you are lying to me, then how do I know you arent lying when you say I will keep your secrets. AGH!

I think friends are the hardest thing to come by, but when someone lies to me. It. Kills. Me. It breaks my heart and when I know they are bluntly lying I get so mad. I know the Christian thing is to forgive. but sometimes I can't. It's something I struggle with on a daily basis. Whenever I start to become friends with a person(I KNOW THIS IS AWFUL) but I tell them small things so I can learn weather or not I trust them. And if they can't keep the little secrets then I know that they can't keep the big ones. Im sure you are thinking now, did Amy test me when we became friends and more than likely the answer is yes. Don't hate me.

I know this wasnt the most positive blog ever, but I needed to get this off my chest.

Now introducing....

>> Friday, September 4, 2009

I am living with six other girls. Let me introduce you to my lovely roommates:

My actual roommate is Allison: Allison is from Jersey and that's what we call her. She works in Magic Kingdom at Big Thunder Mountain. She is a Business Major.

Julie is from Connecticut. Our roommates hate us because we are so freakin loud. She is twice as loud as I am(if you can imagine that). I call her Giggles, Tacos, and Beast. Haha. Julie and I click really well and always crack each other up.

Nicole is from Michigan. We call her Ma because she is the one who during the first week told us what time and where to be. She helps us figure stuff out. She's a life saver

Morgan is from Ohio/New York. She lives in Ohio but is originally from New York. She is the quietest out of all of us. She doesnt really say much but she laughs at us. She is really nice.

Lauren is from Texas and that's what we call her. She is working in Merchandising at the Swan Resort. She hit a kid in the head with a hoola-hoop at the Magic Kingdom, we still make fun of her for that. PS Lauren loves to shop. She officially knows all of the malls, what stores are in them and their hours.

Once Upon A Time

This is a blog not about today because today I had work which was terribly uneventful. I worked outside (gag me) for the first four hours of my shift, thought my break was 45 minutes when it was only 15, got yelled at for sitting too long then worked as a cold filler in the Quick Service Returaunt called the Leaning Palms. Walked to my car in rain that was coming down so hard I couldnt see in front of me. Walked into a car because I couldnt see in front of me. Came home. Took a nap. Woke up. Watched tv. Then Blogged. So that was my day in a nutshell. BUT I can tell you about going to the very Magic Kingdom for the first time.

Once upon a time there was a girl name Amy, she was 2o years old and had never had the chance to see the Magic Kingdom. But on a very special day of August 28, 2009, Amy got to fulfill her dream of going to the MAGIC KINGDOM!! On the very special day Amy's Roommate, Allison aka Jersey(for future post) was accompanying her because Allison has been coming to Disney at least twice a year since she was two. So Allison was the perfect tour guide. On the way to Disney, Amy was smiling like a kid and she continued to do this all day. Amy was overcome with joy when she got on the Monorail(the transportation that takes you to the Magic Kingdom) that when a five year old said "I'm so excited," Amy just happened to give the five year old kid a high five and say, "Me too!!" When Amy entered the Magic Kingdom, she felt like she was in a dream. She even screamed for joy when she saw the castle. Literally screamed, *no, this is not a dorky thing for a 20 year old to do* Amy rode every single ride in park!! Some even twice. She rode Splash Mountain, Peter Pan's Adventures, Dumbo, and the Tea Cups!! She also rode 15 other rides but those were her favorites. She saw a parade and was like a little kid giving Goofy high fives and yelling princesses names. Amy is a girl who doesnt cry, but she was so over-whelemed with emotions she teared up a few times such as the parade, the shows, the rides, the char acters, the castle and the parade. Oh wait that's everything. Haha. Amy got to go through Adventureland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and Frontier Land. She had a perfect day and it ended with watching fireworks at Cinderella's Castle. It could not have been a more Magical Day in the Magical Kingdom. And she lived Happily Ever After....The End
